I believe that any thread a user replies in, should be auto-subscribed. I think a lot of users are probably thinking that there's nothing going on, because they didn't opt to subscribing to that thread. But maybe they don't realize that's what you have to do?

So, subscribing by default would be a great way around that issue, and also generate more traffic I think.

Maybe you deactivated it somewhere in the account settings?
Anyway... it actually should work the same way you described it.

Ok, I reset the auto-notification for everyone and set the new default to 'on.' It can be turned on by going to profile>account settings>modify profile>notifications and email.

I don't think this will create an email problem with the server since we don't get a ton of posts, but we'll see!

Thanks John. I definitely think it will improve traffic if users are reminded by email!
