Going to spend the next week or so tinkering with new set up and figuering out the new interface.

I may have to use two line outs in the back to get a stereo sound...not sure yet.

May have found the issue.

The adapter I'm using to make headphone plugin bigger is not working properly.

If I jiggle the connector it tends to play through both Left and right sides.

Need new phones with larger plugin or get new connector.

Recording and playback.

Will need a second Sm57 (and mic cord) If I want to record in real stereo (which is what I want)

That means I will search Kijiji for another Sm57.

The M audio Firewire 410 pre's are nice, unfortunately without two mics you can only record mono.(one side at a time and no stereo)

After that I will have to learn how to set up two mics for recording (avoid phase issues ect)

The 410 sounds nice though so far. (even though its a bit dated now)

Things Needed before record ready.

Buy a second sm57 and cord
Need a mic bar with at least two clips.

Once the two mic setup is done for the M audio firewire 410 and the M Audido C400 interfaces I should be good to go.

Until then I still have my original Fast track to record with. (even though it's seen better days).

Once I get set up it will be less talk and more walk (so to speak)

There were a couple of 57's for sale on Kijiji a while back however there are none there now.

Have to wait for someone to post one for sale.

Should be able to get one for half price or better.(hopefully one with a cord)

Researched a bit on how to record with two mics.

This site has some good info.
http://www.deltamedia.com/resource/stereo_microphone_techniques.html

Stereo miking adds lifelike realism to a recording because it captures:

The left-to-right position of each instrument.
The depth or distance of each instrument.
The distance of the ensemble from the listener (the perspective).
The spatial sense of the acoustic environment, the ambience or hall reverberation.
The timbres of the instruments as heard in the audience.

Forgot to add headphones to the list of things needed.

One thing leads to another in regards to home recording and usually leaves you with empty pockets so i like going second hand if I can and save some cash.

Lot of "Like New" music gear on Kijiji because tons of people buy music gear in hopes they will learn how to play however that doesn't always work out.Lucky for me and you if you need some decent gear on the cheap.

Things needed

Headphones with 1/4 inch jack
Shure sm57 and cord.
Mic bar with at least two clips.

Kijiji allows trades as well.

Stuff I have for trade

Apex 435 condensor mic
Epiphone Les Paul 100
Art Tube Pre amp
M Audio C400 (might trade depending on offer)

I used to sell on ebay and have excellent feedback (still have the account) if anybody want's to do an online trade.

No online trade with the guitar though...I shipped a guitar from Canada to Italy once and shipping was almost $300 and I was lucky to even find a company that would send it (Fed Ex was the company that shipped it)

Small packages like the C400 will be around or under $20 to ship in North America.

Have not used Ebay.ca (Canada) account in forever however here is some feedback.

http://myworld.ebay.ca/thecomicshack

Ignore the Positive feedback: 0%

They must calculate feedback on a yearly basis...I never use the account anymore.

My positive feedback was Pretty much a 100% (not sure why they have 0%)

Just another thing that doesn't make sense on Ebay and why I don't use it anymore.

Ebay owns Kijiji I think so I wont tear them up to badly because I like that site.

Someone got ripped off from that Kijiji site not to long ago.

Someone went to buy item and instead of paying for it they just took it.
