Tried downloading two zip files the other night and took to long so going FLAC might be the way to go.

Considering the number of people who've viewed this thread, the low number of votes seems to suggest that people agree with FLAC as an option. I'm going to recommend using FLAC to share files, with WAV, if people want to share them. I think the savings in terms of bandwidth and server space will outweigh the downside of having to convert them for use in some DAWs.

Everyone agree?

Agree

I would create a thread/sticky/guide in mixoff section.

Post some of the links Stoman provided for FLAC encoder/decoder for both Windows and Mac.

If people still post Wav files then you will need a moderator to convert or ask the poster to convert files to Flac.(In a polite manner that is) until everyone is acclimated.

Over at the other site we used APE however Flac seems like the better choice.
