Does anyone have any live recordings that we CaN mix?

I have some. I'll have to talk to the bands first though.
I'm cleaning up my server, but you can find some of the mixes I did on this forum here: http://soundcloud.com/stefhartog

Sweet! I think that would be a great idea, give us a different realm of mixing, maybe we could even get some voice over stuff too from some people. Who knows so many things to mix...

Alright, permission given. I'm uploading the tracks as I type this and will make a thread when it's done (will take an hour or so).

In the mean time maybe someone can help me figure out in what category this should be... Genres confuse me :)

Straight Rock I'd say?

Has a little bit of a Rush vibe which is cool - The combo of high vocals and keys probably.

Will take a stab at this one for sure

I agree totally. Haven't had a lot of experience at all with live mixing so it'll be great to have a go.

I did one live mix back in August of 2010.

Here is the mix if anyone is interrested in hearing it.

Only tip I can give in regards to mixing live stuff is you definately need to use a gate on most of the tracks.

The instruments sound nice but I'm finding it hard to make out the vocals Vincent.  Sometimes the spill is what you need to get it all to gel together.

We never finish a mix - We simply abandon them.  Adam A7's , Focusrite Pro24 DSP, Focusrite LiquidMix, Presonus FaderPort, Sennheiser HD250 Linear II
