Mix Critiques and Feedback / Mix Feedback on my YouTube
« Last post by therealappliedknowledge on November 22, 2018, 03:29:44 PM »
Hey guys.  Just joined.  I have a lot of beats on my YouTube channel that I would really like some feedback on.  Majority of it is rap.  No vocals.  All instrumental.  Just wanna know what everyone else thinks.  Link Below

If that link doesnt take you there just look for Applied Knowledge Music playlist.

I feel like I'm doing a bit of archaeology over here, digging up this old post. In fact, this song has stuck in my mind for the last 7 and a half years (time flies).
A few days ago I decided I wanted to listen to it again and found out that, although I had the raw tracks, I couldn't find any mix in my computer, sooo... here we are!

Don't know if any of the original contributors are still hanging around this forum but, thanks, Guitar Zero, for all your songs, They are absolutely beautiful. My contribution won't ever do it justice...

From a collaborative mixoff project, posted by Guitar Zero, back in 2011.
Original song by Guitar Zero; original tracks (vocals, acoustic guitars, piano, synths) provided by Guitar Zero; bass by noeqplease; electric guitars and mixing by yours truly.

This being the case, it’s best to set aside specific studio sessions for mixing, rather than trying to do it ‘as you go’. If you try and mix on the hoof, you’ll likely end up wasting time rather than saving it.

I'm looking to buy Vintage Reverb as well.
So i see the last post was back in May so i guess this is not a heavily frequented forum so i hope there are folks to provide some feedback fairly soon.

This is a practice mix of some tracks i downloaded from Telefunken Studios. The Band is Matter song My Soul.
New to this ITB mixing and this is my first posted mix and i want to get better so constructive criticism is needed.

I like this site very much. I did not make that kind of thing. Now it's all learned.

Hey man my advice is putting an EQ/Filter BEFORE the reverb. What I would use is an EQ that has both a High Pass Filter and Low Pass Filter. Experiment with both filters until you get a sound you like. A good example is Abbey Road would always use a HPF and LPF BEFORE the chain in their echo chamber. I believe they would HPF at 600hz and LPF at 12khz. Hope this helps!
