Enuncia - Tempo is at 91.

Marcel - really nice drum sound! Your mix is weird to me only for the reason that when I play live, I would always be opposite of how you have me panned, so it sounds odd to me LOL! - but only for that reason. Hope you had fun with it. This wasn't a major production, just capturing how we sound live for gigs.

Here's my first stab at the mix; still have to do some automation and fader rides, but I wanted to get some feedback before I went much further.

Had a lot of fun mixing this, song has a really good groove to it and the tracks were well recorded.  Good job!

LCressy,   Thanks for your kind words.. Sorry about the pan job, I'm totally right brained Grin...I had a Good Time  ( pun intended ) mixing this one.. Ya after listening to it with fresh ears I found that the hi hat was way too loud.. I might remix it with the pan correction and less hi hat and.... more cow bell ( SNL spoof ) any way you guys are a great band and all the best to you.

    Marcel,
It's all good, have fun with it. I am a little biased just because I am so familiar with the tracks. For the Reference track, it's just faders up, static mix. I just wanted to post these so people could play with them, so I'm glad you did. The other files I posted - smooth - have some horns, percussion, so you may want to play with that one as well.
    Take care.

Ok did a mix of this today!
Great performance! Cheesy, tho the kick tracks are a little of velocity wise I guess you use superior drums!?
So I augmented the kick to balance out the wrong velocitys on the kick tracks.
Otherwise I didnt edit any of the drums so the small mistakes are still in there!. Smiley

    Hope you like it

    MortenDK,
Sounds good! Yes, it is superior drummer, but it is not programmed. I have a Roland TD-12 that goes into Protools and it is played by a drummer. I left it as recorded - for this style of music, I like small "mistakes". I feel it keeps a real feel to the tunes. I've never had any of my recordings mixed by anyone else, so this is an interesting experience...hearing it mixed from different perspectives! I'm glad to see everyone having fun!

Really great song LCressy! And you mix is also very good! The only thing that caught my attention was the clicky bassdrum. It's a little bit too much for my taste.

@Marcel K-O funnily I also prefer to pan the same as you (but for some reason I did it in an opposite way this time Shocked). Really like the rhodes & snare on you mix. The guitars are maybe a little too dry. especially the solo lead seems to lack a little delay/reverb.

Here's my first version of the mix. Unfortunately I don't have any time for the next couple of days so I decided to put it up now and finish it later on. Right now I have nothing on my master channel - so it might sound a little quite.

    Einfalslos,
Nice mix, glad you liked the recording. My mix is a bit dry, which was intentional since it was a demo to get gigs, not sell. Something regarding the reverb on your mix that caught my attention, was that your reverb tail is very long - was that intentional? To me, on the first guitar intro, the tail is hanging on for about 3-4 seconds, and as the song develops, it starts masking other elements of the song. I do prefer the less clicky kick drum!

    Einfalslos,

Your mix sounds really good to me. It's a very solid mix. The tones, the panorama and the depth are all represented very nicely.

                    Great job...

Thank you for your feedback! Really appreciate your input! I'm actually surprised that this mix seems to be quite ok because I mixed it on simple computer speakers.
@LCressy: hmm, you might have a point there. Unfortunately I don't hear any negative influence of the reverb on my speakers. But you can't rely on them as crappy as they are. I'm going to EQ and automate the reverb after the guitar intro to avoid this problem. I have actually two mono reverbs. About the same tail length (about 2 sek.) panned in the opposite way of the guitars at about 3 o'clock on the panning knob.
